Our California Lemon Law has seen some significant changes. Here is a highlight list of the main changes:

  1. Used vehicles purchases are no longer covered by the California Lemon Law.
  2. If a vehicle is sold as a manufacturers CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) with it’s own new CPO warranty, it can be applicable to California Lemon Law.
  3. California Lemon Law now goes back a maxium of 6 years from the date first sold new. A claim must be filed within that 6 years.
  4. Once the manufacturers applicable Limited Warranty has expired, the lemon law claim that affects that warranty must be filed within 12 months.
